“Justice Denied” (Helmet series #1) bronze & sandstone 1995 20x23x47 cm

The first in a series of four from the artist’s “Helmet”  series, “Justice Denied” mesmerizes the viewer.  One is drawn into “the helmet” to see what lies within. In this case, the helmet reveals a sharply pointed beak-like element. In various forms, the “beak” appears in later works as well: “The Raven,” sculpted in 2000, and a 1996 piece entitled “Raptor,” which was stolen from Syd’s residence in San Miguel de Allende.
